What Inskriba is
Inskriba is a deliberate writing and cultural-intelligence platform documenting African and Nigerian lived experience. It is editorial, reflective, archival, and serious: closer to a cultural magazine of record than a social-first media brand. A long-term institution, not a content experiment.
The subject is one thing, African and Nigerian life, told in several registers. The same subject in an essay, a collection, a research paper, a recorded conversation, and a dataset.

One machine, two engines
The essay is lived experience written by one person. The data is that same experience gathered from many and held anonymously. Narrative and evidence, the singular voice and the plural pattern, on the same subject. Everything Inskriba builds sits between those two engines.
What we protect
Two things are irreplaceable, and we guard them. We pay writers, on time, for their work. And we hold the lived experience people share with us anonymously: our public data is aggregates and anonymized voices, never a name against an answer. In an era of extraction, that protection is not a feature. It is the point.
The archive
More than 140 published essays across 26 themes, a growing roster of contributors, ongoing collections, research, and a standing panel of Nigerians whose responses become public datasets. A permanent record that grows, not a stream that disappears.
What we believe
- Monetize trust and depth, never attention. The work is built on people trusting Inskriba enough to read deeply, contribute, and answer honestly.
- Growth by resonance, not reach. A smaller audience that returns and goes deep beats a large one that bounces.
